Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks Launches Chicken Ricebowls & Cat-Themed Collectibles in Brand Refresh

 

Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks marks its 22nd anniversary with the launch of Shihlin 2.0, a bold brand refresh that introduces full meal options, modernised store designs, and adorable limited-edition merchandise

 

From its humble beginnings in 2003, Shihlin has sold over 100 million XXL Crispy Chickens, expanding to more than 240 outlets worldwide, including in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the U.S., and Egypt. Now, it’s taking the next step by evolving from a snack stop into a full-fledged dining destination — starting with the revamped outlet at NU Sentral, Kuala Lumpur

 

Introducing Ricebowls & Noodle Series 

 

For the first time ever, Shihlin is offering hearty Chicken Ricebowls, created in collaboration with a Taiwanese food consultant: 

 

  • Braised Chicken Ricebowl 滷肉飯 (RM15.90): A halal-friendly take on Taiwan’s iconic lu rou fan, featuring rich minced chicken over pearl rice with tofu, ramen egg, and pickles. 
  • Chiayi Scallion Chicken Ricebowl 嘉義雞肉飯 (RM15.90): Inspired by Chiayi’s turkey rice, this version uses tender chicken with a flavourful soy-turkey-style gravy. 

 

Also debuting in Malaysia is the Dried Tossed Noodles Series (RM8.80 each), offering three street food-inspired options: 

 

  • Scallion Oil Noodles, 
  • Dan Dan Noodles, and 
  • Taiwan Cut Chilli Noodles. 

 

These are accompanied by vegetarian appetisers like Smashed Cucumber, Black Fungus, and Oyster Mushroom

 

Meet Miào Miào: New Mascot & Merch Drop 

 

Shihlin 2.0 comes with a vibrant new identity, led by Miào Miào, the brand’s playful cat mascot. To celebrate, Shihlin has launched limited-edition blindbox plushie keycharms, with Miào Miào dressed up as popular menu items like XXL Crispy Chicken and Oyster Mee Sua. Available at RM25 with every RM15 purchase, while stocks last.
