Raya Comes Early as Hada Labo’s ‘Beraya Lebih Bergaya’ Brings Love and Care to Underserved Women

Hari Raya arrived a little earlier this year for 30 underserved women, thanks to Hada Labo’s heartfelt ‘Beraya Lebih Bergaya’ grooming workshop. The initiative, part of the brand’s long-running ‘Sending Love and Care to Society’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, delivered not just festive cheer, but renewed confidence, dignity, and self-worth.

Now in its seventh year, the CSR initiative continues to create meaningful and inclusive impact by equipping women with essential grooming knowledge alongside skill-based income opportunities. Through this effort, participants are empowered to celebrate Hari Raya with confidence and a stronger sense of self-belief.

Recognising that self-care plays a vital role in personal empowerment, Hada Labo collaborated with Women of Will (WOW) to curate a hands-on grooming workshop tailored to the needs of underserved communities. Guided by a certified trainer, participants learned practical skincare routines—from proper cleansing and moisturising to maintaining healthy daily self-care habits. Beyond techniques, the session encouraged women to carry themselves with confidence and pride.

Adding to the festive spirit, Hada Labo also sponsored Baju Raya outfits for all participants, ensuring they could celebrate the season feeling joyful and self-assured.

“For the first time in years, I felt truly confident putting on my Raya outfit. The workshop made me feel seen, cared for, and excited to celebrate with my family,” shared Faridah Binti Abu Kassim from PPR Lembah Subang 2. Another participant, Nor Yati Binti Kamarudin from PPR Hiliran Ampang, expressed gratitude for the experience, noting that the workshop provided her with practical skills that helped her feel her best for the festivities.

Empowerment Through Skills and Opportunity

Extending its impact beyond personal development, Hada Labo also commissioned selected participants to sew 160 sets of Baju Raya. These garments will be distributed to other underserved women in PPR communities—creating a meaningful cycle of giving while providing income opportunities for the tailors involved.

This holistic approach underscores the brand’s commitment to empowerment—combining self-care education, skill-building, and community contribution to create lasting, positive change.

Lim Mei Yuen, General Manager of Rohto-Mentholatum (M) Sdn Bhd, highlighted the initiative’s evolution over the years, noting that each campaign is designed to build confidence, encourage self-care, and provide tangible opportunities for women to uplift themselves and their communities.

Echoing this sentiment, Zulikhwan Ayub, Chief Operating Officer of WOW, emphasised the importance of such collaborations in fostering creativity, confidence, and growth among participants.

Since its inception, the ‘Sending Love and Care to Society’ initiative has impacted hundreds of women and families across Malaysia. Through programmes like ‘Beraya Lebih Bergaya’, Hada Labo continues to champion inclusivity, nurture aspirations, and empower women—ensuring that the spirit of Raya is truly shared by all.
