TP-Link Brings Wi-Fi 8 to Malaysia, Powering the Next Era of Connected Living

First Wi-Fi 8 launch in Asia Pacific signals a new focus on reliable, AI-ready connectivity for businesses and homes

KUALA LUMPUR, 15 SEPTEMBER 2026 – As Malaysian businesses and households become increasingly dependent on cloud platforms, AI applications and connected devices, TP-Link Malaysia has officially launched its Wi-Fi 8 technology and vision, bringing a new generation of reliability-focused connectivity to the country.

The launch, held at the TP-Link APAC B2B Summit 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre under the theme “Together We Connect the Future,” marks TP-Link’s first Wi-Fi 8 launch in Asia Pacific.

At the Summit, TP-Link showcased the Archer 8 Ultra router and Deco 8 Ultra mesh Wi-Fi system, alongside a preview of its upcoming Omada Wi-Fi 8 platform for business networking.

“For years, wireless technology has been sold on speed. But speed means little if a connection drops mid-meeting or a cloud application stalls at the worst possible moment,” said
Brian Dong, Vice President of TP-Link Asia-Pacific.

“ As Malaysian organisations bring more AI and cloud-based systems into daily operations, reliability becomes the real currency of digital transformation.”

Built on the upcoming IEEE 802.11bn standard, Wi-Fi 8 is designed around TP-Link’s Wi-Fi 8 Stability Engine, which aims to strengthen coverage, manage congestion and reduce interference for more consistent connections, particularly in crowded and high-demand environments.

The technology is expected to support applications ranging from smoother video conferencing and cloud access in offices and universities to more dependable connectivity across hotels, hospitals, retail outlets and Industry 4.0-enabled factories. The same reliability-first approach extends to homes with multiple smartphones, smart TVs and connected devices sharing a single network.

Beyond Wi-Fi 8, TP-Link introduced its
Fusion Pro Series, bringing networking and surveillance management together on a unified platform. The company also announced plans for the Omada-VIGI AI Application Developer Alliance, connecting AI companies, developers and technology partners to accelerate AI-powered solutions across smart classrooms, retail, factories and hospitality.

TP-Link is further supporting Malaysia’s digital talent pipeline through MOUs with three local universities to introduce Omada networking courses and hands-on training.

“Malaysia’s digital ambitions depend on connectivity that simply works, all the time, everywhere,” Dong added. “TP-Link is committed to strengthening technical readiness and growing the Wi-Fi 8 ecosystem in Malaysia.”
