Can Robots Cook Malaysian Food? Find Out At Taste & Trade 360

Robotics, smart kitchen technology and next-generation F&B solutions take centre stage at KLCC, 5–7 November 2026 

KUALA LUMPUR, 3 October 2026 – Can robots handle the flavours, techniques and demands of a Malaysian kitchen? Visitors to Taste & Trade 360 (TT360) 2026 will get to see for themselves when Malaysia’s food and hospitality industry gathers at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from 5–7 November 2026.

Returning for its third edition, TT360 2026 will bring Malaysian manufacturers, distributors and solution providers together with international technology players, giving restaurant owners, chefs, hoteliers and F&B professionals a first-hand look at robotics, automation, commercial-kitchen equipment and emerging foodservice solutions.

Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) and organised by Brilliant Exhibitions Sdn Bhd, this year’s exhibition places robotics and automation firmly in the spotlight, showcasing technologies designed to enhance productivity, consistency and efficiency in today’s kitchens.

A major highlight will be Battle of the Bots: Culinary Edition 2026 on 6 November, where X-Bot, a robotic cooking system developed by Gene Tech Sdn Bhd, will take on the challenge of preparing food in a distinctly Malaysian context. The initiative brings together Gene Tech, Ping Edge Technology Berhad (Kitchen Arena) and UOW Malaysia to explore how robotic cooking could work in real-world foodservice environments.

Dishes will be evaluated by Malaysian culinary professionals with international competition experience, based on taste, creativity, complexity and presentation.

“Automation is no longer just a concept. The important question is what it can actually do in a working kitchen,” said Ethan Choong, Chief Executive Officer of Ping Edge Technology Berhad (Kitchen Arena), the main sponsor of TT360 2026.

Beyond robotics, visitors can also explore an EV Food Truck, highlighting how battery-powered technology could support mobile F&B operations.
