Toshiba Puts Mothers at the Heart of Breastfeeding Support
KUALA LUMPUR, 18 August 2026 – Breastfeeding is a journey shaped by love, resilience and plenty of real-life challenges — and no mother should have to navigate it alone.
In conjunction with World Breastfeeding Month 2026, Toshiba Lifestyle Malaysia is bringing mothers, experts and advocates together through its “Empowering Every Mother’s Journey” initiative, spotlighting the realities of breastfeeding while encouraging greater awareness, education and support for mothers and newborns.
The initiative was officiated by YB Yeo Bee Yin, Chairperson of the Parliament Select Committee (PSC) for Women, Children and Community Development, who highlighted the importance of collaboration among families, communities, healthcare professionals and the private sector in creating a more supportive environment for mothers.
The forum also featured a panel discussion with YB Yeo Bee Yin, Certified Lactation Consultant and Infant Care Expert Elizabeth Richard, and model, ceramist and wellness advocate Natasha Hudson. The panellists shared candid perspectives on breastfeeding, from physical and emotional challenges to the importance of informed choices, professional guidance and strong support systems.
“At Toshiba, we believe innovation should serve a greater purpose by enhancing everyday life,” said Vanice Foo, Head of Brand Management, Toshiba Lifestyle Malaysia. “By integrating technology, education and community care, we aim to support mothers throughout their breastfeeding journey and contribute towards healthier beginnings for newborns.”
Taking its commitment beyond conversation, Toshiba Lifestyle Malaysia is donating refrigerators, washing machines, dryers and dishwashers worth approximately RM60,000 to The Nesting Place Confinement Centre, Kimporo Postnatal Rejuvenation Centre and LYC Mother & Child Centre. The refrigerators will support hygienic storage of expressed breast milk, while other appliances will enhance comfort and convenience during postpartum recovery.
The contribution has earned Toshiba Lifestyle Malaysia the Parenthood Records title for the Most Home Appliances Donated to Confinement Centres — recognising its efforts to create safer, healthier and more nurturing spaces for mothers and babies.
The initiative also features the 5-Senses Toshiba Lifestyle Experience Zone, showcasing how thoughtful home solutions can help create a calmer, more comfortable environment for growing families.
Because when mothers are supported, families thrive — and every breastfeeding journey deserves to be met with understanding, confidence and care.
